I can see the light

Here I am almost 39 weeks and I am looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. I am so excited and uncomfortable that I am just ready for the bean to get here. Here's my weekly update - sorry I've been so bad at keeping this up. I guess I am a bad personal blogger. Hopefully I won't regret not keeping up with this weekly. I'm thinking I might need to pull out the baby book we got as a shower gift to fill out while I wait for my water to break this week? We shall see.

How far along? 38 weeks, 4 days

Total weight gain: I'd rather not talk about it. Enough. :)

Symptoms: Heartburn (caused by my folic acid) and uncomfortable

Stretch marks: Yes - boo, hiss.

Sleep: I really wish I could sleep on my stomach - I miss that a lot these days. Also peeing in the middle of the night - I'm surprised I actually get out of bed.

Food cravings: Cereal for every meal. And lately peppermints which I loathed when not pregnant. (same and thank goodness for the holidays)

Maternity clothes: It's a mix of both - I found I could buy a size up and still have some good choices.

Best moment of the week: feeling the baby hiccup - they are really darling if you ask me.

Movement: LOTS. Kick here, kick there - kicking all the time.

Gender: Can't wait to find out - still thinking boy.

Labor Signs: Some more BH but that's about it.

Belly Button: struggling to stay in but there.

What I miss: Beer. always beer. Oh, and running. And let's add bending over with ease. And today let's add good sleep - including on my stomach. (amen)

What I am looking forward to: the bean arriving. Ready or not - I just want to meet our child.

Dearest Bean:
It really hit me last week that you'll be here so soon. Thanksgiving was such a special time to start some new traditions and we can't wait until we can celebrate it with you next year. We got our tree up and even the menorah is ready to be lite. Both your daddy and I are so excited to know you'll be here to change our lives for the better. Daddy sends me texts all day long to check on you and see if you have arrived. Many of mommies other friends are checking in on you as well. You are really loved and I hope you can feel that when you decide to come into this world. I hope that you arrive safely and really soak in your days being little and sweet. I want you to see this place as a good place to be and grow - and that nothing anyone says ever hurts you. I know I can only protect you as you are in the womb and no matter what, that once you get here we can only do our best - but I really hope you have a happy childhood filled with laughter, love and dog kisses. I'm sure Reese and Laker will not disappoint as they lick you and kidnap cereal from your highchair. May you have patience for them and for your parents who just hope to raise you right.
With lots of love and anticipation,
Your soon to be Mom (and Dad)

How did time speed up?

Time seems to speed up here and I'm now 35 weeks and 35 days out. YIKES! It's all getting to be really real and I'm really uncomfortable most of the time. I'm trying my best to put a smile on my face and remember that soon the little one will be here.

How far along? 35 weeks

Total weight gain: I stopped counting but I must be up 25 lbs.

Symptoms: Heartburn and lack of real sleep.

Stretch marks: Yes - boo, hiss.

Sleep: I miss falling asleep and staying asleep - I also don't care for shifting side to side because my hips are fall asleep. Overall - - as long as I don't drink lots of water late at night - - I don't pee every 2 seconds. (same)

Food cravings: Cereal for every meal. And lately peppermints which I loathed when not pregnant.

Maternity clothes: Mix and match for the most part but pants are becoming an issue. Thinking I'll pick up a coat too since the one from last year totally doesn't fit anymore. :(

Best moment of the week: Getting to this point to be honest.

Movement: this kid loves to move around - especially late at night. I also love the fact that if I push, the kid kicks me back.

Gender: Waiting until December.

Labor Signs: A few BH but nothing too nutty yet.

Belly Button: struggling to stay in but there.

What I miss: Beer. always beer. Oh, and running. And let's add bending over with ease. And today let's add good sleep - including on my stomach. (amen)

What I am looking forward to: our ultrasound next week. I want to see the butter bean that keeps kicking me. :)

Dear Bean -
The days are all running together and you'll be here before we know it. Your daddy is getting so excited about your arrival and I'm trying to get past the thoughts of birthing you. :) I know things are getting a little cramped in there, but could you please stop beating up your mama? 35 more days unless you decide to surprise us with an early delivery. Can you please do me one favor? Please don't come when your daddy is in Aruba. I really want him in town when you come into this world. Love, Mama.
