Time files when you are having fun

Vacation was amazing. I need to work on editing some pics and get them posted on my other blog and on here. The weather was awesome - 70 and cool on most days. We came back to muggy, humid weather. I keep imagining the cottage near the water in Canada when I was wearing jeans and a sweater - instead of just sweating and running for air conditioning now. Here's the weekly update.

How far along? 22 weeks

Total weight gain: 6 pounds (and maybe a few more but not claiming it due to vacation lbs.)

Symptoms: headaches from heat mostly

Stretch marks: yep - on my side :(

Sleep: Yes - including the 2 nights in separate queen sized beds at the Hilton in St. John where I slept in the middle of my own bed. Best. night. sleep. ever!

Food cravings: Apples - but they had to be Granny Smith. And I finally got my cotton candy as well. Ate almost the whole bag in 2.5 seconds and then got a tummy ache.

Maternity clothes: I wore some in Canada but can still mix and match for the most part.

Best moment of the week: Drinking a regular coffee and feeling what I like to think was movement from the bean.

Movement: Maybe

Gender: Waiting for December

Labor Signs: None

Belly Button: in (but shallow)

What I miss: beer. still. And I think I always will. Yep - sticking with my answer.

What I am looking forward to: Hearing the heartbeat tomorrow at my scheduled OB visit. Still makes my heart melt to hear that little thump.

Stick a fork in it

Lately I feel huge. I am not big nor do I really look pregnant, but man do I feel it. Today when it's hotter than Columbia, SC (a.k.a. hell), my stomach just feels like it could pop. Not the best feeling in the world. Oh, and if I offended you by referring to Columbia, SC as hell - - let me just say that most of us who were raised there call it the armpit of the south. It's hot there. And yes, it isn't my favorite place in the world so I boycott it. But I will add that you must drive through it to get to one of my favorite cities, Charleston. And Columbia is home to Cromers Peanuts - the Worst in the WORLD, according to their marketing department. If you think I am kidding - Google it. But I digress. Here's a bean update before our vacation starts tomorrow.

How far along? 19 weeks, 6 days

Total weight gain: 6 pounds

Symptoms: headaches (they suck) and feeling like I might bust like a kid squeezing a birthday balloon.

Stretch marks: yep - on my side

Sleep: Mornings are my favorite - I always feel great and then being pregnant hits me like a ton of bricks.

Food cravings: Pizza and breakfast foods like turkey bacon.

Maternity clothes: I have some but still able to squeeze into my regular stuff for now. Give me a few more days. :)

Best moment of the week: Figuring out what maternity pants are really like and now I don't know if I will ever want to go back.

Movement: Maybe - but still waiting.

Gender: Waiting for December

Labor Signs: None

Belly Button: in (but shallow)

What I miss: beer. still. And I think I always will. Yep - sticking with my answer.

What I am looking forward to: OUR VACATION. Mostly because of the weather forecast being 70 with no humidity. I can't wait considering it is going to be 100 here on Friday. You can keep it Carolinas!

Almost half way there

Next week I will be at 20 weeks. Not sure I'll be blogging since I'll be in Canada, so this will have to do for a couple of weeks. Here's to real maple syrup, seafood fresh off the boat and plain ole family fun.

How far along? 19 weeks

Total weight gain: 6 pounds

Symptoms: headaches (they suck)

Stretch marks: yep - on my side

Sleep: trying to stay on my left side. Trying to put a pillow between my knees. I'm thinking if I could have about 6 more pillows I might get comfortable.

Food cravings: Chocolate covered gummy bears, jelly donuts and fish tacos. Just not all at the same time.

Maternity clothes: Going shopping this weekend as some things are still fitting but not sure how much longer.

Best moment of the week: Still zipping up my pants.

Movement: None

Gender: We'll have to wait until December - not finding out. :) (I will stick with saying boy even if everyone in the family calls the bean a girl)

Labor Signs: None

Belly Button: in (but shallow)

What I miss: beer. still. And I think I always will.

What I am looking forward to: I can't wait to see my best friend from San Fran this weekend to go maternity shopping and just hang out. I also am thrilled to finally head to Canada and meet the rest of the hubs family including his soon to be 94 year old grandmother.

Countdown - to Vacation.

We are headed to Canada in a few weeks and I can't wait for the cool weather. We got a heatwave back this week and I hate going outside for any reason. I miss that cool down last week when I could go on long walks with the pups. So ready for FALL. Like now.

Total weight gain: 4 pounds (still not really showing)

Symptoms: headaches - they suck and also hot - all.the.time.

Stretch marks: just a few

Sleep: best on the couch, but still getting sleep as needed.

Food cravings: ice cream - from all this heat.

Maternity clothes: Bella band mostly - hope to go shopping in a few weeks for when I really pop.

Best moment of the week: knowing that most of my clothes still fit. :)

Movement: Still waiting.

Gender: We'll have to wait until December - not finding out. :)

Labor Signs: None

Belly Button: in (but shallow)

What I miss: beer. again.

What I am looking forward to: an ultrasound tomorrow to see the little bean again.

Father's Day 2010

Father's Day in our home has been mostly about the pups and I celebrating with the hubs. This year we did Father's Day early with my father-in-law before the in-laws left for Canada. I can't believe they will be gone until October. The only thing that makes me excited is to know that we get to join them at the end of July for a nice vacation. We'll get to see the rest of the hubs extended family and also spend time with the G family (hub's sister) from California. We only really get to see the G family twice a year, but never for a long time. It should be a really good time.

But back to the topic. Since this is also the hub's first pre-baby father's day, I wanted to make it special. I got him a card and a little book. It's call I Like You. I heard it a wedding as a reading and maybe it was pregnancy hormones but it was hard not to cry. Here - you give it try:

I Like You (by Sandol Stoddard Warburg)

http://erikstar.blogspot.com/2009/02/i-like-you-sandol-stoddard-warburg.html

Such a sweet little book and the drawings are so cute. It's hard to believe that one day we'll get to read it to our little one. :)

Whoa! My Poor Neglected Blog

I can't believe how much I let this blog go without writing. Since I am going to yet again try to keep up, I thought I would change it up a little with a new format. :)

How far along? 16 weeks (this Thursday)
Total weight gain: 4 pounds
Symptoms: Hot - all.the.time. and a few leg cramps
Stretch marks: just a few
Sleep: once I am down for the count - I am OUT.
Food cravings: After barfing for about a month and a half, plus feeling green, I am happy to report that I am back to eating - mostly fruit like cherries and watermelon.
Maternity clothes: I have a Bellyband I wear most of the time but still fitting into my clothes thanks to the 10 pound weight lose from barfing.
Best moment of the week: Hoping it will be good results from my blood test - but hearing the heartbeat last week was awesome too.
Movement: None - but I had a dream I felt the baby moving. Strange.
Gender: We'll have to wait until December - not finding out. :)
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button: in (but shallow)
What I miss: beer. It's summer and it isn't the same without one cold beer.
What I am looking forward to: an ultrasound in a few weeks to see the little bean again.

So if you haven't heard yet, I am pregnant and expecting in December. I'm finding it all hard to believe. We found out in March and not soon after the good news, I had a really tough time with morning sickness. I ended up in the ER twice and also got nursed back to health after a week long stay with my in-laws. They were so awesome to take me in for a whole week and get me eating again. So that's the big news for now. We are not really going to announce it on any social networks for now, but if you are reading this - - please join us in the good news. :)
